1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small data files, which a website you visit, such as ours, can install and store on your computer, or your mobile terminal device (tablet, smartphone, laptop). Due to cookies, the website memorizes your actions while navigating.

The use of cookies as trackers is supported by various navigation programs, the so-called browsers, such as Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, Opera. If you want, you can turn them off so that they are not accepted or even delete them afterwards.

2. Functions of cookies

Depending on their type, cookies perform functions of measuring page traffic, recording number of visitors, language, login time, geographical origin, device IDs (eg operating system, screen resolution), keywords used, login attempts etc. Some cookies are personal data and some are not. Some cookies are technically necessary, while others serve commercial and advertising purposes.

3. Types of cookies

There are different types of cookies, functional, technical, user identification, advertising, etc. Website cookies are installed by the website you visit and are read-only by it. If the website uses external third-party services, then their own cookies, the so-called third-party cookies (Google Analytics, Facebook, etc.) are installed on your device. Permanent cookies are those that are stored on your computer and are not automatically deleted once you close your browser. Session or period session cookies are those that are deleted as soon as you close your browser. Εach time you visit our website, you will be asked to accept or reject cookies. If you consciously choose to accept them, our site will memorize your preferences for a certain period of time. In this way you will not have to re-enter them when you browse our page during the same visit.

The installation and use of "cookies" is specifically regulated by law (article 4 par. 5 L 3471/2006) which incorporated the European Directive 2002/58 / EC (ePrivacy), which, however, is expected to be replaced by a Regulation (ePrivacy Regulation) - in which case changes may be made to this policy. Each website is allowed to install such a "cookie" only if you, as a visitor, give us with a positive action (opt-in) your explicit consent (according to the terms of GDPR 2016/679) and after a clear and extensive information about this facility, the utility, the consequences that a denial may have to the visitor’s experience of the site, the purpose of the processing, the exercise of the right of access and any recipients of the data.
